Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a hot oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Prepare the pastry dough.

  2. Place 1 teaspoon of filling mixture on each piece of dough and fold the corners over.

  3. Flatten with your hand and turn upside down on the board.

  4. Roll with a rolling pin until the filling breaks through.

  5. Place in buttered pans, slash the tops, and brush with milk and beaten egg.

  6. Dust with sugar and bake until brown in a hot oven at 400°F (200°C).
