Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Heavy cream
Provides fat that makes the ice cream rich and creamy and keeps it smooth.
Sugar
Sweetens the base and lowers the freezing point, keeping the ice cream softer and scoopable.
Peaches
Add fruit flavor and natural moisture to the base.

The step that matters

Let the mixture cool before adding the peaches and additional cream. Adding fruit or cream to a hot base can split the cream and melt the partly frozen mixture unevenly. Cooling first keeps the texture smooth and helps the base freeze properly.

Swap the peach

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (cream, sugar):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Strawberryfits better
  3. Raspberryfits better

Fit is the average pairing score against cream, sugar. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
