Oatmeal Soap

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Shave the Castile soap and place it in a tin pail on the stove.

  2. Barely cover the soap with water and simmer gently until dissolved.

  3. Stir in the sweet almond oil, powdered borax, tincture benzoin, and lemon juice.

  4. Beat the mixture well, then remove it from the stove.

  5. As it cools, spoon it into fine oatmeal and shape into cakes with your hands.

  6. Allow the cakes to dry; they improve with age.
