Strawberry Short Cake

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Make a crust for baking powder biscuits using more shortening.

  2. Divide the dough and roll out half to fit in a pan.

  3. Melt butter and spread it over the top of the crust.

  4. Roll out the other half of the dough and place it in the pan.

  5. Bake until done; the top half should slip off easily if buttered sufficiently.

  6. Spread more butter on the top half, add the mashed and sweetened strawberries between the cakes.

  7. Return to the oven for a few minutes.

  8. Pour cream over the cake just before serving, or serve cream on the side.
