Ingredients

Directions

  1. Smooth the ice cream and roll some macaroons to powder, then sift the powder over the ice cream for a brown appearance.

  2. Place the ice cream biscuits in a freezing box until ready to serve.

  3. To freeze small quantities of ice cream, use a deep tin vessel in a tub of ice and salt, stirring rapidly with a spoon or paddle.

  4. A quart can generally be frozen in 10 to 15 minutes.

  5. For a glossy appearance, use 1 to 1½ pounds of sugar per quart and work well until it pulls from the spoon like pulled candy.
