Baked Irish Stew

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a pie dish, layer mutton chops, onions, carrots, turnips, and potatoes alternately.

  3. Season each layer with pepper and salt.

  4. Add a little water to the dish.

  5. Cover the dish closely and bake for 1 hour.
