Rich Plum Cake

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Beat the butter until creamy.

  3. Add the sugar to the butter and stir together for a long time.

  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs well.

  5. Gradually mix the eggs into the butter and sugar mixture.

  6. Incorporate the flour, candied fruits, almonds, allspice, and cinnamon.

  7. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
