Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine sweet cream and sugar to taste. Add vanilla extract for flavor.

  2. Freeze the mixture until it reaches a firm, hard consistency.

  3. Once frozen, draw off any excess water and repack the ice cream with coarse salt and ice.

  4. Prepare the ice by cracking it into small pieces and layering it around the freezer with salt in between.

  5. Continue to freeze, drawing off water as needed to prevent overflow.

  6. When the ice cream is sufficiently frozen, remove the dasher and pack it again with salt and ice, ensuring all water is drawn off.
