Pie Crust

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix and sift flour, salt, and baking powder in a mixing bowl.

  2. Add lard and mix thoroughly with a fork until it looks mealy.

  3. Work the mixture lightly with your hands without pressing it together.

  4. Add cold water and mix with a fork to bring the dough together.

  5. Place the dough on a floured board and roll it out very thin.

  6. Fold the dough in thirds, bringing one end to the center, then the other end over it.

  7. Make one fold the other way to create four layers for flakiness.

  8. Cover the dough with a napkin and chill in the refrigerator while preparing the filling.

  9. Cut the chilled dough into pieces for the desired number of crusts and roll them out.

  10. Keep all ingredients and utensils as cold as possible.
