Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Eggs
Egg yolks thicken the sauce and whites, folded in, create the airy rise.
Cream sauce
Forms the thick, smooth base that holds the soufflé together.
Chopped meat
Provides the main filling and savory flavor of the soufflé.

The step that matters

Folding in the egg whites. Whites hold air only when beaten and folded in gently. Stirring or deflating them removes the air bubbles, so the soufflé rises less in the oven.

Swap the parsley

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (cream, sauce, onion, meat, egg, butter):

  1. Capersfits better
