What each ingredient does

Flour
Thickens the stuffing so it holds together rather than running out.
Mushrooms
Add moisture and savory flavor to the filling.
Lamb chops
Form the pocket that holds the stuffing and provide the main meat.
Butter
Adds richness and flavor to the stuffing and the serving sauce.

The step that matters

Let the stuffing cool before stuffing the chops. Warm stuffing softens the butter and can make the mixture loose and wet, so it may not stay packed between the chops during broiling. Cooling it first helps it hold its shape.

Swap the parsley

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (butter, flour, mushroom, pepper, lamb):

  1. Parsleythe original
  2. Thymefits about as well
  3. Turmericfits less well
  4. Garlicfits less well

Fit is the average pairing score against butter, flour, mushroom, pepper, lamb. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
