Meat or Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Roll out the puff pastry to about ½ inch thick and cut it into 8 to 12 squares.

  3. Place some sausage meat on one half of each square.

  4. Wet the edges of the pastry, fold it over the meat, and press the edges together.

  5. Trim the edges neatly with a knife.

  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or longer if the rolls are large.
