Cheese Omelrt

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 300°F (150°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. Butter the sides of a deep dish and layer with thin slices of cheese.

  3. Add a layer of well-buttered bread on top of the cheese, sprinkling with red pepper.

  4. Beat the eggs with cream or milk and pour over the layers in the dish.

  5. Bake in the oven until nicely brown.

  6. Serve hot for the best texture.
