Rice Cake

Oven, in the book's wordsA moderate oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a moderate oven”. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour and sugar.

  2. Break the eggs into the mixture and add the vanilla.

  3. Whip the mixture for 30 minutes using the back of a dinner knife.

  4. Pour the batter into a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
