Buckwheat Cakes

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine buckwheat flour, sugar, salt, yeast, and molasses.

  2. Add warm water gradually to create a thin batter and beat well.

  3. Set the batter in a warm place to rise.

  4. If the batter is sour in the morning, stir in a small amount of baking soda dissolved in hot water.

  5. Each night, leave about 1 cup of the batter as a sponge for the next day, adding the usual quantity of flour and other ingredients.

  6. Beat the mixture well before cooking.

  7. Make the cakes generous in size.
