Citbon Pound Cake

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Spread the pound cake mixture on buttered parchment paper in a pan, 1 inch thick.

  3. Cover with a layer of thinly sliced citron.

  4. Add another layer of pound cake mixture on top of the citron.

  5. Repeat with a second layer of citron and finish with a final layer of cake mixture.

  6. Bake until golden, then let cool and remove the paper.

  7. Decorate with icing as desired.
