Yeast to Preserve
Ingredients
Directions
Work the yeast with a whisk until it becomes thin.
Spread a thin layer of yeast on a clean, dry wooden dish using a soft brush.
Cover the dish upside down to keep out dust but allow air to dry the yeast.
Once the first coat is dry, add another layer and repeat until the yeast is 2-3 inches thick.
Store the dried yeast in dry tin canisters.
To use, cut a piece of dried yeast and dissolve it in warm water.
