Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cream the butter in a bowl until smooth.

  2. Gradually add 1 tablespoon of sugar while stirring.

  3. In a cup, combine the beaten egg and milk, then add the remaining tablespoon of sugar.

  4. Mix the liquid ingredients into the creamed butter and sugar.

  5. Your partner will add the dry ingredients.

  6. Cut out 2 doughnuts from the dough.

  7. Test the fat temperature with a 1-inch cube of bread; it should turn golden brown in 60 seconds.

  8. Carefully drop the doughnuts into the hot fat, avoiding splashes.

  9. Turn the doughnuts as they rise to the surface, frying until browned all over.

  10. Drain on paper towels.
