Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Prick the baking apples deeply in several places.

  3. Place the apples in a buttered baking dish.

  4. Bake the apples until half done.

  5. Squeeze the apples flat with your hands and sprinkle powdered sugar on both sides.

  6. Return the apples to the oven and sprinkle more sugar on top.

  7. Bake until fully cooked.
