Canning and Preserving
Ingredients
Directions
Ensure jars are clean and rubbers are in good condition.
Fill jars with hot water and let sit for 30 minutes.
Prepare a dish-pan with hot water and have a deep plate ready.
Fill jars with fruit, leaving space at the top.
Use a spoon handle to release air bubbles.
Pour juice into jars until it overflows.
Screw the tops on tightly using a towel to protect your hand.
Place jars in a dish-pan of water to catch any spills.
Once all jars are filled, wipe them dry.
After cooling, tighten the tops again as the glass contracts.
Label jars and store in a dark, cool place.
When using fruit, wash the jar and rubber, and dry them before reusing.
