Blackbkeey Wine

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Take a tub or barrel and create a small pen at the bottom using sticks.

  2. Place an armful of clean straw on top of the pen.

  3. Bore a hole near the bottom of the tub or barrel.

  4. Set the tub on a stool or box to allow a vessel to be placed underneath.

  5. Mash the blackberries and place them on top of the straw.

  6. Let the juice drain through the straw and into the vessel below from evening until the next morning.

  7. For clearer wine, mix ½ gallon of wine with ⅓ cup of sweet milk.

  8. Stir the milk into the wine and pour it into a transparent bottle.

  9. Stop the bottle and let it sit for 24 hours to allow sediment to settle.

  10. Carefully pour off the clear wine into another bottle, avoiding sediment.
