Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Rabbit
Provides the main meat, which becomes tender during the long simmer.
Onions
Soften during frying and simmering, adding sweetness and body to the stock.
Butter
Fat that browns the rabbit and onions and carries the curry flavour.
Stock
Forms the liquid base of the soup and carries the flavour of the meat.
Curry powder
Adds warm spice aroma and flavour to the broth.

The step that matters

Simmer for 1 hour. A gentle simmer keeps the rabbit tender and lets its flavour release slowly into the stock. A hard boil toughens the meat and can make the broth cloudy.

Swap the mango

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (rabbit, onion, butter):

  1. Coconutfits better
  2. Mangothe original
  3. Lemonfits about as well
  4. Avocadofits about as well

Fit is the average pairing score against rabbit, onion, butter. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
