Rice, Browned

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Boil rice as for curry and let it cool.

  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. Lightly butter a baking tin.

  4. Spread the rice in a thin layer in the tin.

  5. Bake until golden brown, turning occasionally to color evenly.

  6. Use just enough butter to prevent burning; do not let it dry out.
