Pie-crust— Plain
Ingredients
Directions
In a bowl, combine flour, lard, and salt until well mixed.
Gradually add cold water while chopping the mixture to avoid wet streaks.
Do not knead with your hands.
Sprinkle flour on a clean surface and on a rolling pin.
Gather a little more than half of the dough into a round pile and roll it out from you.
If the shape is incorrect, turn it at right angles and roll again.
Once the dough is the right size, cover the sides and bottom of a pie dish.
Roll out the remaining dough for the upper crust, making 3 or 4 gashes for steam escape.
After adding the filling, place the upper crust on and pinch the edges together.
