Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Boil the macaroni in milk, adding more milk as it soaks up, for about 2 hours on low heat.

  2. Butter a flat dish and add the cooked macaroni.

  3. Grate cheese over the macaroni and place small bits of butter on top.

  4. Bake in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  5. Optionally, add a rim of pastry around the dish.
