Stewed Tomatoes

Ingredients

Directions

  1. If the tomatoes are not very ripe, pour boiling water over them and let them stand for a few minutes to peel the skin easily.

  2. Cut the tomatoes and place them in a stew pan without any water.

  3. Cook the tomatoes until they are soft. If they are too juicy, dip some of the water out and mash them fine.

  4. Season with butter, cayenne pepper, and coarse sea salt.

  5. If preferred, thicken with bread crumbs or grated cracker.
