What each ingredient does

Ceylon tea
Provides the base liquid and tannin-driven astringency that balances the sweetness.
Lemons
Add acidity that brightens the punch and balances the sugar.
Oranges
Add sweetness and citrus aroma along with extra acidity.
Sugar
Sweetens the punch to taste, offsetting the acidity and tea bitterness.
Bananas
Add body and a soft, mellow sweetness to the punch.
