What each ingredient does

Tea leaves
Release the flavour, aroma and colour into the water during steeping.

The step that matters

Letting the tea steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Compounds that give tea its flavour extract steadily with time and heat. Steeping too long pulls out more tannins, which make the tea bitter and astringent, so timing matters.
