For Crystallizing Grass

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Dissolve 1½ pounds of rock alum in 3 pints of boiling water and let it cool completely.

  2. In a wide-mouthed vessel, hang in a few grasses at a time, ensuring they are not too heavy for the stems.

  3. If desired, reheat the alum solution to add more grasses.

  4. Add a little coloring for variety if you wish.
