What each ingredient does

Red raspberries
Provide the main flavor and color, with juice released as they steep in vinegar.
Vinegar
Extracts raspberry flavor and provides the sharp acidity that balances the sweetness.
Sugar
Sweetens the syrup and balances the vinegar's tartness.
