Yorkshire Pudding

Oven, in the book's wordsA good hot oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a good hot oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Remove the roast from the oven when nearly done.

  2. Pour the gravy from the roasting pan into a saucepan.

  3. Pour the batter into the pan.

  4. Set the pan in the meat stand and place the roast above it to allow drippings to fall onto the pudding.

  5. Bake in a hot oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes.
