Roast Ham -with Spinach

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Scrape and shave off the outside of the ham and saw off the rank end of the knuckle bone.

  2. Soak the ham in water for 12 hours before cooking.

  3. Boil the ham in salted water for 2 to 3 hours, depending on its size.

  4. Remove the ham, take off the rind, and trim it slightly.

  5. Bake the ham at 400°F (200°C) until brown and shiny, about 30 minutes.

  6. Serve the ham on top of spinach, similar to corned beef and cabbage.
