Stuffed Tomatoes

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Scoop out the tops of the tomatoes without spoiling their shape.

  3. Fry the chopped onion in a little water until nearly done.

  4. Add moistened bread crumbs to the onion and season with pepper and coarse sea salt.

  5. Stuff the tomatoes with the mixture and place a little butter on each.

  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until nicely browned.
