Parker House Rolls

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Scald the milk and set a sponge with yeast, adding salt and a tablespoon of butter.

  2. Do this right after breakfast; when the sponge is light, make a soft dough.

  3. Let the dough rise again, then roll it out to about 1 inch thick.

  4. Cut into large, round pieces and place small bits of butter on one side of each.

  5. Fold the other side over as for ordinary rolls, let them rise again.

  6. Bake until light brown for tea.
