What each ingredient does

Pineapple
Supplies the juice and the main fruit flavour.
Sugar
Adds sweetness and helps preserve the juice.

The step that matters

Heating for 1 hour and hot bottling. Sustained heat destroys microorganisms and enzymes that would otherwise spoil the juice. Bottling while hot into sterilized containers helps keep the juice stable during storage.
