Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Beef brisket
Forms the main body of the dish and is cooked tender by long boiling.
Bread crumbs
Absorb moisture and give the stuffing body so it holds together when sliced.
Egg
Binds the stuffing ingredients together as it sets during cooking.
Onion
Adds moisture and savory flavor to the stuffing.

The step that matters

Sewing up the brisket tightly. If the stuffing is not sealed firmly inside, it can leak or loosen during the long boiling, so the slices will not hold together neatly.

Swap the mace

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (beef, bread, pepper, onion, egg):

  1. Parsleyfits better
  2. Garlicfits better
  3. Thymefits better
  4. Macethe original
