Ingredients
Directions
Mince the beef nearly to a paste.
Stew gently, preferably overnight, to skim off the fat.
Season with pepper and coarse sea salt, then sprinkle with oatmeal.
Chop the parsley and thyme, and add to the mixture.
Boil the onion until nearly tender, chop it, and mix it in.
Add enough broth or skim milk and water to cover the beef.
Let it simmer for two hours.
Thicken with a little oatmeal and add 2 teaspoons of mushroom or walnut catsup.
Stir well, boil for one minute, and serve with toasted bread.
