Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a quick oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Roll out the pastry and cut it into large rounds.

  2. Mix the chopped chicken with seasoning and minced ham, if using.

  3. Moisten the mixture with gravy or cream.

  4. Place a tablespoon of the mixture on one half of each pastry round.

  5. Fold the other half over and press the edges together to seal.

  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) or fry in hot fat until golden.
