Cranberry Pie

Oven, in the book's wordsA moderate oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a moderate oven”. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Stew the cranberries with a little water until soft.

  2. Sweeten to taste and let cool.

  3. Line pie plates with pie paste.

  4. Roll out the remaining pie paste and cut it into narrow strips.

  5. Cover the top of the pie with these strips, forming little squares.

  6. Trim the edges and bake in a moderate oven at 350°F (175°C) until golden.
