Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs
What each ingredient does
- Vanilla ice cream
- Forms the frozen, creamy body of the punch.
- Sherry wine
- Adds acidity and depth that balances the sweetness.
- Sugar
- Sweetens the base and helps keep the frozen texture soft.
- Cream
- Adds richness and fat, giving a smooth, silky mouthfeel.
The step that matters
Whipping the cream to stiff peaks. Cream must be whipped until stiff but not grainy or over-beaten, so it folds in evenly and keeps the punch light. Folding gently preserves the trapped air that gives lightness.
