Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a moderate oven”. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

Prepare

  1. Brown the lamb chops on all sides in a hot, unbuttered frying pan.

  2. Lay the chops in a casserole, season with salt and pepper, and dredge with flour.

Bake

  1. Pour the boiling water into the frying pan, add Worcestershire sauce and catsup, stir well, and pour over the chops.

  2. Cover and cook in a moderate oven at 350°F (175°C) for 2 hours.
