Making Bread
Ingredients
Directions
Place the flour in a large bowl and make a hole in the center.
Stir the yeast into the warm water and pour it into the hole.
Mix with a wooden spoon to form a batter, then sprinkle flour on top.
Cover with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 2 hours.
When it has risen and cracked the flour, dissolve the salt in a quart of warm water.
Pour the salted water into the batter and mix well.
Knead the dough for at least 1 hour until it is light and stiff.
The dough should not stick to your hands when done.
If using an iron oven, roll the dough into shape and place it in tins to rise in a warm place.
