Cheese Cake

Oven, in the book's wordsA quick oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a quick oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Roll out the puff pastry to a medium thickness.

  2. Brush one half with cold water and spread grated cheese over it.

  3. Fold the other half over the cheese and lightly roll with a rolling pin.

  4. Cut into strips about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide.

  5. Bake in a 400°F (200°C) oven until golden.
