A Dish of Macaroni

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Soak the macaroni in equal parts milk and water for 2-3 hours.

  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  3. Butter a pie dish.

  4. Layer the soaked macaroni, grated cheese, a little butter, pepper, and salt in the dish.

  5. Repeat the layers until the dish is full.

  6. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
