Paste Puffs

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Roll out a rich paste and cut it with a biscuit cutter.

  2. Lay the cut pieces on a baking sheet.

  3. Cut a puff paste of the same size and make a hole in the center with a small glass.

  4. Ensure the rim is half an inch thick.

  5. Bake until golden brown.

  6. Before serving, fill the puffs with preserves.

  7. For a nice finish, brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with white sugar before baking.

  8. For a lighter color, use only the egg white and skip the sugar.
