Raspberry, Cherry or Gooseberry Turnovers

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Roll out the light crust to ¼ inch thickness.

  2. Cut the crust into rounds using a small basin.

  3. Place a few stewed black raspberries, cherries, or gooseberries with sugar on one half of each round.

  4. Fold the other half over the fruit and seal the edges securely.

  5. Bake on a baking sheet in a moderate oven at 350°F (175°C).

  6. Serve with sifted sugar.
