Chicken Pie

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cook the chicken in enough water to cover it until about halfway done.

  2. Remove the chicken and mix pepper, salt, flour, and butter to make a rich gravy.

  3. Roll out the crust and line the sides of a pie dish, letting it hang over the edge.

  4. Cut narrow strips of crust and place them around the top of the pie.

  5. Add the chicken and fill the dish halfway with gravy, saving some for serving.

  6. If needed, mix more butter, flour, and seasoning, add small pieces among the chicken, and add some water.

  7. Cover the dish with a thick crust, cut a round piece from the center, and roll out thicker crust for leaves.

  8. Cut eight leaf shapes, marking them with a tablespoon, and arrange them on the pie.

  9. Roll a narrow strip of crust, cut it finely at one edge, roll it up, and place it in the center.

  10. Bake gradually until the crust is golden brown.
