Vol-au-Vent with Fruit

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into shapes about ¾ inch thick.

  3. Bake until golden brown, then sift powdered sugar over the top.

  4. Return to the oven to glaze, using a salamander if necessary.

  5. Remove the interior carefully, ensuring not to create holes.

  6. Fill the vol-au-vent with the chosen fruit and drizzle with syrup before serving.
