Ingredients

Directions

  1. Dissolve 1½ pounds of rock alum in 3 pints of boiling water and let it cool.

  2. In a wide-mouth vessel, hang a few grasses at a time in the solution.

  3. Ensure the grasses are not too heavy for the stems to support.

  4. You can reheat the alum solution to add more grasses.

  5. For variety, add a little coloring to the solution.
