Chicken Pie

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Clean and singe the chicken, then simmer it in boiling water until tender.

  2. Save the broth and giblets. Cut the chicken into small pieces.

  3. Slice the pork thinly and fry it with the chicken until browned.

  4. Remove the chicken and pork, then stir in flour into the pan and cook until brown.

  5. Add chicken broth, salt, and pepper to the pan, stirring until it boils for 2 minutes.

  6. For the crust, mix flour, salt, and butter in a bowl, adding cold water to hold it together.

  7. Roll out the dough to 1 inch thick, layer with ¼ pound of butter, fold, and chill for 30 minutes.

  8. Roll out again with another ¼ pound of butter to ½ inch thick, folding in three layers.

  9. Line a deep dish with the crust and layer in the chicken.
